THE PROPOSAL By Bada Yusuf Amoo

Written by Editor

All formality

In the wind thrown

Our reflection gleaming

On the lens of imagination

They met

At the soul interchange

I think I should

Retire into your comfort

But Fridause

Will it not be too

Fast, or an illusion

Like a sun in the evening

The wind plays around

Time steals in between

Kindness of God – life

And death

Couple of status, as

Memorial – break the dawn

You brought something

My muse

In bifurcated recluse

Your presence so magnetic

Unite the detachment

Fridause, show me your image

I had been a prisoner

Within myself

I massage myself

With piece of meditation

And you came smartly

With a piece of freedom

Between us stood

A heap of time

So close upon us

Like yesterday and today

And tomorrow

What we may even think

I have paid nostalgic visit

Into imagination

The memoir could be

Evergreen book

But your eternal presence

Could mould better laughter

And our differences

Could wear fine indifference

You’re a fresh flame

I can drink noise in moderation

My pen is fine to serve you

Only if you’ll accept my weaknesses
