WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ART By Adisa Aminat Olabisi

Written by Editor

We were supposed to be Art
Art in the form of kindness
Be the kind of Art to the one we meet
Fight a battle we know not about
Kindness used to be a contagious disease
A disease that spread to everyone
But now it seems we all got cured of the disease

We were supposed to be Art
Art in the form of kindness
The Art which is steadily fading away
From our modern society
The Art of kindness is key
Key contributor to happiness
A smile to all; cry to none

We were supposed to be Art
Art in the form of kindness
But our walls are now so tall
That its bricks lack generosity and friendliness
Our pride in Art has become shame
And shame in evil has become pride
While the golden rule no longer applies

We were supposed to be Art
Art in the form of kindness
That treat others the way you want to be treated
Inspire the Art of kindness
Be the Art someone sees to smile
The Art is nothing more than rewarding
