VICTIM By Akande Iqmat

Written by Editor
Can someone tell me what's all the fuss about?
Since you left the gap wide and didn't bother to bridge
With a piece of lolly the kids are lured in
Going dirty with them yet you know nothing
"Don't tell anyone and you'll get more sweets"
And gradually,they become victims

The older ones seem exempted from sweets
Immature but fun to tease
Money and flower is what they use.
Unlucky are some cos they get beaten,
Molested and abused yet disbelieved
In silence,many suffer from DV

Did i just hear "orphans they are"?
No, most live in parenthood but lacks parent-craft
No intimacy and no attention, just left to stray
Build so much trust in your child and bridge the gap
Safe them from victimisers and heal their wounds.
