OUR NATION By Adesunwon Habideen Babatunde

Written by Editor

The birth of the third world
Spank out of colonization
The country of our fathers
Which unite all tribes.

The nation of love the call
Yet bloodshed have it all
United we stand they say
But division has cut us in ways.

If unity could strive among us
And love stay with us
Will our difference still divide us?
Will our culture still estranged all?

The mistakes of our master colonial
Uniting different nation with denial
Cut across our ways of life
All in the name of love

After the emancipation of nation
Creating nation-state with nature
Connecting us with a river
Which had no value to our culture.

Indeed! A great nation we are
If we stand together in love
And respect the culture with us
Leaving our differences and odd
All in the name of our world

Till we respect our odds
Find all means but lust
Searching for greatness in one
Then we shall develop beyond the shore.
