ORDEAL By Ajibade Abdullah Pentalk

Written by Editor

Have you heard of him,
Who shouldered the burden of many?
Left home in quest to eat,
but never returned.
The darkness of the world
had swallowed his presence
And left his spirit roaming in path of regret.

Regrets:
Of a sick mother whose stomach may halt breathing soon,
Of siblings with eyes anticipating his faded arrival,
Of a father whose body may become a tale for tomorrow.

Left home in quest to eat,
But became the food
For the spirits that lives in darkness.
