DEADLY INTOXICATION By Mutiu Saheed Alowoeshin

Written by Editor

What! I was a free man, but why caged
These fanciful parts seems lovelier
Being captivated by her lethal
Is it her eyes that mesmerise
Or her deadly beauty confesses?
Wait! Do I still have me in me
Journey! Even if I go, I am never far
Name! Am I named or I have forgotten
Is ‘A’ the first letter of English Alphabets
I think ‘Y’ is the first and never can it be ‘A’
No one can confuse me of life even if I am
It seems her slight intoxication has entered
To her was my heart but why “Now”
The glimpse of heaven was mine
Once upon, I was capriciously Loved
I have broken all bondages but ‘I’
Knotted down here without rope
Shall I be free from this whimsical Idea
and start dancing to voice from “Capstan”
