TROUBLED TIMES By Ogbonna-Eze Samuel Kwachukwu

Written by Editor

Reached the crossroad of life.
Everything seemed to be falling in place
but one smile from her sends it crashing.
Sometimes I look at myself in self pity
when I realise you are the mayor of my city.
Never knew where I stood with you.
This frenzy sent me to a state of confusion.
With gentle gestures I sought clarification,
even as the uncertainty of events set in.
Appearance they say is deceiving,
because it is a mask that opposes certainty.
Not knowing right from wrong.
All i had was my intuition
but intuition they say, is never safe.
I did pop the question with the sincerity of my heart 💓,
turned down with the best smile in universe.
Pandemonium crashes this gates of reasoning.
With a broken heart I cry for help.
Truly these are troubled times,
especially for a troubled mind.
