AMIDST THE CANTS BY Saheed Alowoeshin

Written by Editor

I found myself amidst the cant
Humbleness whispered into my ear
I felt so important like that heir
Who eat breakfast during the lent

I walk so hard on the surface
Until when land then shout and shed
But pretense made me unheard
Like I don’t too have my face

It arouse my self esteem and pride
I forgot how tricky the cant
Being entrapped and now I learnt
My laughing-tears asked cant aloud

Says cant “We have black saved inside of us
And we ride you that white from the horse.
