WATCHING THE WATCHER By Ugonna Utulor

Written by Editor

They are watching us, ready to pounce on us,
If by chance we slip
on this slippery slope.
They are hungry lions, vultures.
They are enemies of the people.

We will be watching them.
They think we can’t see them
But we do, we see them.
We see them destroying our nation.

We the masses are watching and waiting.
One day we won’t bear it no more.
We will ask for a piece of the pie,
A little piece for all the people.
We will demand for a seat at the table.

And if they deny us, recent events have made clear the path we’re to follow. France is an example, a revolt of the people in votes.
The people tired of the old ways,
Crying Emmanuel, Emmanuel, Macron on your people, mercy on your people, merci from your people.

We are children of destiny, watching, waiting for the appointed time.
We’re goggles in the hands of our maker,
instruments to be used for good:
Watching the watcher.
