FOR AJOKE By Adisa Aminat Olabisi

Written by Editor

Here! We met at amphitheatre
Novel and green students we were
Hand of friendship, she extended to me
Can we be friends? She asked courteously
Without thinking otherwise; we cloaked hands
And that was the beginning of our friendship

Ever since,
Amazingly and surprisingly
Everywhere we go they refer to us
As identical twins
How true that is?
I still cannot fathom

Ours was a friendship so genuine
Center of blissful blues and mystified moments
Ajoke, these few number of years
We had been through thick and thin together
But with lots of love, understanding and forgiveness
We came out stronger than a solid rock
Perhaps, you have heard it takes two to tango
That two in this case is Aweni and Ajoke

For us it was a bend and not an end
Life is yet to go; beautiful things are yet to happen
For us, our world is full of castle in the air
My beloved friend turns out to be twin sister
A million thanks for being part of my sojourn
A heart full of gratitude
for being one of the lead actor in this my journey of destiny

You remain in that best part of my heart
For what you are to me remains special
And I wish you the best things of life
Even as we set to take the next journey of life.
