ADUFE By Ibraheem lateef Adebayo

Written by Editor

Laye Olugbon-
Beauty was a folklore
Well refrained like lyrics of Ajasoro with thousand of tongues.
……………
Laye Aresa-
Beauty was a faceless Ajoji
Well described and chanted
By Orunmila Baba Agboniregun
………….
Aladufe mii-
Afigba t’odi aye Bibiire Orangun
When you traversed into Isalu Aye
With sparkling skin
And intoxicating eyes
Well moulded by Adaniwaye
………
B’eyi o se Aya eni
Asi je Aale ani –
Has become the song of Mojesi Alapa masise
When they stumble upon you
At the village square

Sugbon Gbo temi Adufe- Gbo temi
For I am Olakunle
The one whose home smells
Incense of cowries.
…………
Ani o gbo temi Aladufe-
Momo gbo temi-
For in my heart is thy love
Blazing with cold flames
………..
Adufe!
Momo se alaigbotemi-
For I am your shadow
Well destined to sojourn
With you under the sun.
