FRESH HIBISCUS By Na’eemoh Moriselade Olawale

Written by Editor

For Okanlawon Fridaus Mosunmola

You have been there
All these years in my heart
That I can’t let you beat faster
And dawdle in pains.

Favourite amongst the fruits,
Ravelling always your beautiful endocarp.
In the morning and dark evening
You never dim a shine

A pillar of my heart you are,
A reason to my thousand times glowing
Face,
More of your butter I want to spread
On my bread,
I want to live by bread and you.

A friend of abounding grace you are,
You always shared your portion with me
Countless of my tears has your hands
Absorbed with a smile that lit up my face

You have been there for me Mosunmola.
Leaving you will make me so dry
And feathery.
Spread widely your arms
And scoop me with love.
Let’s be a partner to Jannah.
