REMILEKUN By Bada Yusuf Amoo

Written by Editor

your vow whangs, to earth and die
the trick I met, was great travail
forget so fast, the sail we’ve been
the essay is amiss, but looks approved
beneath your will, I burn in neglect
a fish I be, on grass and land
much I love you, and hate myself
a day pass not, without thinking of you
of our old proverbs, the happy days
I tarry with morrow, but here I tide.

a dying death, is all that fleshm
and time a chariot, by all that lives
morrow you wean, the beauty you pride
and whose hands will care, to hold your waist
the waist of waves, by then I shall hold
and you shall die, with no poetic romance
i have lost the rhyme, a cause you made
a woman is, a trust she failed
this poetry, a change not to my worry
but to protect, the integrity of poetry
