BLACK AND WHITE By Adisa Aminat Olabisi and Bada Yusuf Amoo

Written by Editor

What is happy in this life
That brings happiness today and sorrow tomorrow
What is happy in this life
That gives optimism this minute
and then replaces with pessimism the next minute
What is happy in this life
That breathes in a soul and afterwards causes it to die
What is happy in this life
That beams a fake smile to you
While in depth is full of venom

Well! It’s life after all
Life itself is like gangan drum
What faces me is opposite you
Maybe what makes us unfortunate
Makes them fortune
But what is most certain to all
Is that this same life is ephemeral
And what comes next is eternal. – Aminat

Life is black and white,
One is black because there is white.
I checked the other side of the universe
And I see vanity, like the sculpture of death
I travelled the sea of life alone and the breeze
Seems to be a great companion, I learn to laugh
and be happy but at interval, there comes the other side
I have vowed not to mention sadness, sorrow
Or those meanings that opposite happiness
But I have learnt that happiness
does not exist in isolation, but because sadness,
Sorrow or those meanings that opposite happiness
Exist. I lean on humanity and keep my head straight
Life is black and white, one lying on the other.
Fortune is sometimes bias and unstable
But one thing is certain, man exist because there is God;
God exist because there is man and the whole
Philosophy is mixed up somewhere I couldn’t comprehend. – Bada
