Poetry

TONED By Taofiqat Ayomide Nasir

I am the daughter of my mother
the mother of futures yet unfold
upon my tomorrow lies questions fitted
from whence my present will be told
like many others I’m an ambassador of illusion
whose moon of rarity stench of delusion
give me rose, and I will savour her pride
for she is my sister in deception
coloured by life.
