ISHOLA By Ibraheem Lateef Adebayo

Written by Editor

Ishola has never
Been to the wide city
Where -Aso odun- he wears
Once in a blue moon
Is ordinarily a rag
That mops their floor
But, he knows
-N ti eledua Ba fun ni laawo.

Ishola has never been
To rich town
Where the slum he dwells
Is not as good as their lavatory
But, he knows
-Ibi ori ba dani si lamaagbe.

Ishola has never
In his life
Been to wealthy settlement
Where few crops on his farm
Is not as profuse as the nosh
In their store
But,he knows
-N ti Aseda Ba pese lenu nje.

Ishola is an authentic
Village boy
Who has never received
Dollars with his hands
But, he knows
-N ti Adaniwaye ba fun ni
Laafi logba eni.
