LABAKE’S SMILE By Ololade Edun

Written by Bada Yusuf Amoo

Labake is a beauty goddess walking the earth surface
Every grain of sand praises her steps
her gaits captures none but all
Labake won’t hide her smile
not even when she’s pissed off

African beauty blessed with Grace,
She’s heartwarming and courageous
She’s a woman, so strong and bold,
mannered and cultured she is
I’ve searched every nook and cranny of Earth for Labake

I’ve hoped and wished
Waking up each day with the fact that she’s alive
Alas! I’ve been wrong all this while
The Labake I craved for lives in every lady out there,
waiting for her Mr. Perfect – her stunning Romeo

All this while I was blind while seeing a wrong self
The Labake I wanted lives in the deepest part of our women’s heart
Only the best man for her sees the best in her
I’m happy I didn’t search in vain
At least my Labake lives in my lady’s heart

Waiting for me to unlock and give her freedom
My lady where art thou?
