EPITAPH OF DEEDS By Opaaje Alexander Damilola

Written by Editor

Alongside the path
What I met, were great words
Written in existing handwriting
For non existence

Glittering in gold inscribed
Word for words of his deeds
The knowledge of his existence, I have known
But myopic of his haven of peace…

Now I read his inscriptions
Before me, he has read others’
So shall my very own be read
When I will lay unmoved beneath

Yours also is a must
Reading loudly as the muezzin calls in the minaret
When ears see and eyes hear your words
This will be your inscription

For many, with gold it was written
Of whom is the answer?
if with gold he praises above
Or in furnace he sings therein?
