DEPLORABLE PAIN By Ajao Abdulqowiyy

Written by Editor

Nations suffering from autonomy
Democracy like autocracy
Misery is our nourishment
This is not a system of government.

Dynasties thinking of a way out
Here and there the masses scream and shout
But the land is mute as if there’s no yell
Ahrrrh! This is not fair.

The whites attested to this pain
But its no news for we blacks
Even lifeless revamp from babyhood
Still with us till adulthood.

We elected them for the better
But all they give us is sad letter
Where is our promises?
Their own is to pilfer

Children of today, father of tomorrow
Student of today, tutor of tomorrow.
They expected us to follow their arrow
But we rebuffed because our aim is to be a hero.

This is not democracy!
A system with no liberty
We will not embrace taciturnity
Until victory is actualized in full capacity
