THE VIRTUE OF HUMILITY By Odemakin Taiwo Hassan

Written by Editor

My humility is rare to see
It’s even difficult to judge by the places I’ve been
Travelled far and wide
From the cold north pole to the hot desert side

I don’t judge my existence by my accolades
People I encounter, I’m certain are of different shades
Pride cannot take me anywhere
Instead, it blocks my path to meet wise seers

A couple of times, I shook hands with the King of Saudi
Meetings in India has taught me to speak Hindi
But that doesn’t make me any different
It rather teaches me to learn the virtue of respect

Humility, I will always be proud of
The pride of humility is more than just the eyes can see
To some, humility might seem tough
But little do they know that it’s a way to peacefully live
