UP NEPA By Ajíbádé Abdullah Pentalk

Written by Editor

Since 19th century
This has brought us together,
In an attire of common language

Up NEPA, Up NEPA
The topic on every lips
expressing painful joys
After days of darkness,
Still, we pay the bills

Whenever the sky cries
out her mercy,
Days after are occupant of darkness
for electric cables are meant to dry

Despite changing cloths,
Up NEPA remains our make up kit
but leaves holes in our hearts

Since it runs through
the veins of our fathers,
Since it has become
an inheritance,

Again all we shall shout
is UP NEPA
In Unison we shout again
UP NEPA
For this is who we are,
but not meant to be.
