MUSE OH MUSE By Abdulsalam Ma’rufah Prominent

Written by Editor

To you I call
Be my companion here and there
For the heart of man,
the deepest of sea it be
unfathomable igniting my acceptance
of the Yoruba adage ‘banuso mase ba eniyan so’
be my lightened shadow in times
of darkened solitude
because my nightmare will always rely
on you, be my fellowship in moments of boredom
…my companion at my sojournings,
my oak in loneliness
and my arrow head weapon
for need I my foes be struck out
for my loved ones to embellish
because u will make me an object of
embellishment in the sight of friends
for ignorance could only be a liability
and a night of the mind.
