THIS MY WORD IS FOR YOU By Nasir Taofiqat Ayomide

Written by Editor

Listen to this, child

mama said with lofty smile

my mother a daughter of your model

with compelling words once preached me this:

Love they say is a fair game,

enveloped of weary wars

like lawless maiden, she seduces thought

fanning desires with credulous crave

Once afflicted emotion churns

upon the tunnel of marveling turmoil,

her strenuous euphoria confines sanity

sailing the heart to delirium shore

Of no price her ecstasy is worth,

for beyond luxury aloft she reigns,

unto forever she marches to win

with only death to screen her scene

So, adorn your grace with fervent mantras

acquit morality to shield your worth

your sacred temple must deceit decline

in the realm of treasure, a pearl you must be

Child, this word is for you

if truly from love you seek a home

the petals of love glows not of fancies

neither does it scent of alluring fragrance

her charming chagrins only glints of truth

with bundle of peace, patient and pride.
