LOVE EROSION By Bada Yusuf Amoo

Written by Editor

I am tangle

To the reeds of

Your consciousness,

So flexible

Like the feather of a butterfly

Life paddles your heart

Into my being

And paddles mine

Into yours

Long and loving

Our life shall be

Ajoke, till we hear

The footsteps of death

Please do not leave me

For this world you’re coming

The wind is high

And the cloud sometimes dark

But we can build

An empire

From what could depart us

Just to ignore

Those things that are not love

Idera, you’ll hear lots

When you arrive this world

Many a logic and religion

Telling why you should ignore

What bind us.

Olami, I am investing

My love, trust and faith

In your presence in me

They say women deserve not such

But I feel you’re unique

You just called me “Amazing”

You’re everywhere

In my heart, body and soul.

They will say

It’s not moral, not faith

Not ideal, that I could be

Because many men do

But I will tell you

Put your eggs in one basket

And hang it in Allah

I have done that already.
