WELCOME RAMADAN By Taofiqat Ayomide Nasir

Written by Bada Yusuf Amoo

I
Humility of faith swept me off my feet
At the sight of a glittering glorious moon
And Mercy of Allah watered my flowery noon
As I’m tagged in this special feast
The embers of the fading Sha’aban
Still cringes in obvious shame
Upon the street of forever loneliness
Without any praise, to fire its flame
Your name, O Ramadan
“Could Shackles records” of a lifetime Fame
II
Saum is here, joyous of all pillar
Will i be cleansed, by this golden filler?
My palmy days, caged of Allah’s mercy
Had fled over, in gleaming ecstasy
I don’t have to cry, fully am i covered
In your divine light, with clouds of colours
Mar’ababika ya Ramadan
Your fragrance, endowed of peace
Had pollutes the wind of raving bellicose
Upon the honey bees, of panacea
Kai’fa an tun, ya Ramadan
I had long waited to milk

III

Jannah’s tar
From your milky breast,
To smooth my earthly race
Alhamdulilahi Robbil Alameen… Subhanallah!
The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the
qur’an, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs
for the guidance and the criterion. So whoever of
you sights the crescent on the first night of the
month(of Ramamadan), he shall fast therein (i.e
observe Saum), and whoever is ill or upon a
journey, then he shall fast a (like) number from
other days. Allah s.w.t intends for you ease, and
he does not want to make things difficult for you.
(He wants that you) must complete the same
number (of days), and that you must magnify Allah,
[i.e to say Takbir] For having guided you so that
you may be grateful to Him [2:185] Subhannallah, what a mercy!
