THE OPPOSITE – By Bada Yusuf and Nasir Taofiqat

The Opposite
Written by Bada Yusuf Amoo

The Opposite

In some lines within silence

Into the frost of time I stare

A pleated memory thence

Miraculously, to go I found no where

In awe of burning emptiness

I taste lusty loneliness

As dazzling longings contours,

The sorrow of sweetness so sour

This starched mood holds me here

I squint to watch you going by

Into ten-folds like forest, a sphere

Folds your shadow before my eye

I dialogue in empty air,

Sketching your gaze in watering words,

I lace your shadow with piercing stare

Locking my wit in dreamy pod

Why all metal-melon on my being

My soul cracks patiently, unhelped.

All believable illusion I am seeing

In iconic lines I am camped

And Down in gallery of affliction,

I mirror our splitting ends,

Your embers cuddling extinction

For our memories be burnt to blend
