APART By Tawa Oseni (HKF)

If love were wine,I had gallons for you

If trust were salt,I had pillars for you

If I’m ever asked to name a friend,I’ll name no one but you.

Over and over, you said you’ll always be there

Again and again, for your Lies I fell

Secrets, jokes, all about me,to only you I tell

Thinking about all that now makes me shed a tear

A friend in need they say,is a friend in deedd

I am in dire need you are only farther from reach

I have been torn apart and insulted

Rejected and called a slut

A whore and other things I’m not.

Like a stranger, you walked away

Not even waiting to hear my tale

Oh you heard ‘rape’ and ‘baby’

fled and left your ‘one and only lady’

Where have you gone, this is our place!

Hey! What happened to forever and always?

I hope you just took a break

It’s just for a while

you’ll soon turn and wipe this tears away

Please remember that you once said

that God, who made our hearts

Did not make them to be apart

I’m hoping, I’m waiting.
