You came when I was far from ready
Your arrival changed me,changed my life
Changed it beyond reversal
And for that,I hated you
That was a big mistake

My hatred for you blinded me
Not that I could not see how smart you grew
Your perfect attitude,Of course ,I noticed the prettiness too
But all I could really see was my teenage mistake
And that, was a bigger mistake

Some are not lucky enough to have mothers
You were unlucky to have a mother
A mother who loathed you more and more after each glance
A mother that never gave you a chance
One look at you and I remember my mistake, that mistake that jeopardized my dreams
You are not wanted, not now, not ever
Because all you remind me of is my teenage mistake

Now, you’re all grown
With kids of your own
A home and a career
A great attitude,
Even I wasn’t a barrier

I’ve realized that a child is never a mistake
Regardless of the circumstances she came
I wasted years making my mistake
My biggest mistake was thinking you were a mistake.
