OLÚỌRÁN

MUSHROOMBy Ogunyomi Israel Abidemi

(For anyone who aspires for anything whatsoever in life)

Bend and pick.

Pick and pick.

Pick the more.

Take a bowl.

Sit by them.

Still, be still.

Pick more of these tiny mushrooms:

For if two hundred they are,

In soup they’re yet irrelevant.

So bend and pick.

Pick and pick.

Pick the more.

Take a bowl.

Sit by them:

For if a thousand they are,

In soup yet they make no difference

So, still, be still.

Take a bowl.

Sit by them.

Bend and pick.

Pick and pick.

Pick again.

These little mushrooms,

If at all they make a difference in soup,

It’s little even if they are millions.

So, bend and pick.

Pick and pick.

Pick the more.

Take a bowl.

Sit by them.

Still, be still.

Pick again…
