MOVING ON

JOSHBy Amano Joshua

Bienvenue!

To this inauspicious evening of fun

Under the Fig tree, just me and you

You have your shoes on for some ballet

Open your heart and your wallet

It’s a fundraiser for my heart surgery

My heartbeat’s out of the normal

It beats for you, I want my bailout formal

I profess my undying love publicly

You promise answers in twenty-four hours’ delve

Tick-tock the clock swims quickly

Diagnosed with failing heart, I have less than twelve

I’m dying and you’re stonewalling

You want me dead ;I’m done dying

How do you explain my amnesia

I forget myself but I remember you

Love found, my right Lust too

Left hanging down my broken shoulders

Emotions leading to crimes of passion

Love Cops have me on ice

‘You’re outnumbered, Freeze! ‘

Served my jail term, I’m moving on.

I thought I was a genius

Having understood Love and all

Hacked the encryption to your firewall

Sweet melodies in clefts playing for our ball

Geniuses can’t dance, I deduce

Cause I have two left brains

Surrendered my right, you control my brain still

I didn’t do all that for a Mer¢i

Memorise my breath

I’d prefer you look into my eyes as I gasp for breath

And say ‘no one’s dying’, and fix me

You complain your heart’s been stolen

That happens when you tie

A handsome robber with a rubber band, and Hail Mary

My loving revenge

Trying now to unring my bell.

My heart’s not going to be auctioned off

It’s mind chose you, the lowest bidder

I’ve had a mouthful of my fanta-sea

Anything else smart you might want to say

Cause my heart’s off, eyes to the sail

Wish me luck, if you wish.
