MAMABy Abdulhafeez T. Oyewole

Hyper-irated figures are not mummies
Mummies are boos you love dearly
Those ones you can’t resist their whispers
Their laughs, hugs, giggles and weeps

Moms are diamonds
Not the one you know of
The one with clear visions
Envisioning greater future
For their foetus
So far they are willing
To fly as birds

Moms are diamonds
The unusual shimmering in the sun
In any light, light or dim
Those ones with daring directions
Uncoated with perfect tales
Not for covetousness in bulls’ eyes

Mummies are not buffoons
They are humans deserving humane
Like diamonds that’s adored by all

Who knows no diamond
Has nothing to cherish.
But, who’ve seen one:
Will you lie about your desire
For it to be buried in your heart?
